Twice in the last couple of weeks I had the privilege of spending my evening with Emily and Matt, shooting some engagement pictures. Now, usually my clients and I can get all of our images done in one session. However, on the first night that we were supposed to meet up, Mother Nature had other plans. A strong front of thunderstorms rolled through the region after only about half an hour of shooting, so we were forced to sprint to our cars and live to shoot another day. A week later we were able to get back together to try it one more time. This time, it was almost as if Mother Nature was apologizing because it was an absolutely beautiful night, from the temperature, to the few puffy clouds dotting a blue sky and some stunning golden light. After grabbing a handful more images at Kniess’ mini golf (where Matt proposed to Emily) and then it was off to Evergreen Park. Like I said, the weather was just perfect for our session, so we made stops by the lake, in the woods, a swing set and then my personal favorite, a fallen log across a ravine. Now, you talk about perfect lighting…it doesn’t get any better than this. There was a single beam of light that had made its way through the trees, illuminating the exact spot where Emily and Matt were sitting. Couldn’t have planned it any better if we tried! I had such a great time capturing their engagement session and can’t wait to shoot their wedding in the fall. Congrats again guys, it was a blast!
