Working for the Pittsburgh Penguins on game nights affords me some pretty cool photo opportunities. Last night, at the Pittsburgh Penguins game against the Boston Bruins, the theme of the evening was Hockey Fights Cancer. With purple signage, purple jerseys for the players in warmups, purple lights, the entire arena and organization, as well as the fans, were showing their support for a great cause. One of the coolest aspects was the front of CONSOL Energy Center, which was lit up with a multitude of purple lights from across the street in honor of the Hockey Fights Cancer awareness theme of the evening. I was able to capture this shot from across the street, showing the building as well as Fifth Avenue below it lit up in the fading hours of daylight. You can also see the long lines waiting to enter the building, as this was taken just a few minutes before the doors opened to see the Pens take on the Bruins!
Here are a few other shots from the game as well. The players wore purple Hocker Fights Cacner jerseys in warmups which will later be auctioned off for charity!
